In 2011 2CarryOn began a new serie of interventions titled “Free Birds”. This set of interventions born of my taste for exotic birds, the huge desire to fly and the artistic need to explore different painting techniques and interventions, broadening the horizons of traditional graffiti. This collection consists in various interventions in different spaces, creating in a plastic language, exotic birds, rich in colors, densely textured and strongly appealing … Interventions were performed in random order using spaces out of the ordinary … Trying to call attention to environmental care for the conservation of nature and natural resources.
2CarryOn has been invited to perform some interventions in different spaces and events. Always adapting each bird to the region, seeking to portray an endangered species in this region or locality.
At O Bairro i o Mundo Festival, 2CarryOn end up doing the multicultural connection between the bird and represented the origins and the origins of the inhabitants of the neighborhood, mostly of tropical origin. The location of the intervention "Free Birds" everything relates to its surroundings; A reproduction of a tropical bird - a parrot - in the concave gable makes any passerby flinch when faced with a bird with the height of a building, a polychromatic bird, rich in color, tropical, multicultural. In addition to intervening in this wall, the bird opens the wings tearing the main facade of the building. In a central area of Quinta da Fonte Neighborhood , a zone of passage, the main thoroughfare, where in the evening and weekends, this place takes on a social meeting point for the many habitants of this neighborhood. For these titled by "Bandé Fair" here African rhythms and delicacies from abroad are the main course of many moments of pure fun, dance and inclusion.
